Hold on to your cameras!

Last year, I justified the purchase of a Nikon D50 digital SLR.  I play photographer for the Alpharetta High School band and wanted/needed a good camera.  Of course, I couldn’t just get the camera.  I had to have a tripod and a zoom lens and extra SD cards and ……..

Well, a couple of months ago, I was taking pictures at the Band’s annual banquet.  It was nearby at the Alpharetta Marriott.  Seems though I left my tripod there and.  Well, I think I did.  Although, I did remember lending my tripod to someone.  Well, either way, it’s gone.  It was a Manfrotto with the pistol grip.  OK, note  to self, don’t leave the tripod anywhere and NEVER lend anything to anyone.

Superawii_open_rt_2_n_2So, this weekend I bought a replacement tripod (same one), a new pistol grip AND a new backpack that can hold EVERYTHING, including my video camera, the tripod, my laptop and ever accessory I have.  I bought the Lowepro Super Trekker AW II.   Last night I put the thing on my back and came up to show the family.  LAUGHS.  I look like a Sherpa.  They can laugh.  But, I’m not going to lose good gear anymore.
